A Note From Your Teacher:
A brand new year has begun and I am SO excited to meet all of you! I can already feel that this year is going to go be GREAT! As this year begins, I know many of you are scared, nervous, and maybe even a little excited (I'll keep your secret of being excited for school sssshhhh.) to be starting your middle school career, but I can assure you, you are going to LOVE it. This is one of the biggest steps you have taken so far because you have left elementary school and have come to the middle school. Yes, there is a lot more freedom, but that means you have to work extra hard to stay on task and be responsible. YOU have to make sure you take the initiative to do homework and ask your teachers questions. The first week of school will be intimidating because you are going to have to memorize five classroom locations, combinations to lockers, meet new people, and figure out where to sit at lunch. You may want or need to shed a few tears, but know you always have me and your other teachers to talk to. We are here to help you in anyway we can. Social Studies is going to be as fun as you make it, we do lots of notes (can you believe Social Studies has a lot of notes?) but the reward on Fridays after working so hard for four days is usually a good one. You're going to be bored at times but together we can make history a blast, besides we are making history RIGHT NOW! This is my first year teaching English Language Arts and I am so excited to teach this subject! Personally, I love to read and I love finding books that I know others will love to read too. Please feel free to suggest books to me that you find interesting. Hearing your recommendations is exactly what I want to hear because it lets me know you are reading AND participating in the forty book challenge. Together, we can make this year, one that you will never forget! I cannot wait to get to know each and everyone of you!
Thank you,
Molly Paschal
